Blankets Trailer

Blankets - page 450
I felt that the trailer posted on your blog hub was really well done. It captured all the main themes, characters, and emotions that I saw in the book after I read it both times. The first theme that was prevalent in the book was growing up and the struggles that come along with and also growing apart from family. Craig discussed the struggles with his parents and his brother and the demons that he had to overcome from his childhood. Struggling with faith and loneliness is also very important in this book it is a major struggle that Craig deals with throughout the entire book. He isn’t sure what his faith is and what his beliefs are. Craig doesn’t know what he wants especially, after he falls in love with Raina. He struggles a lot throughout the book and he  has a lot of demons that he is trying to overcome throughout his whole life. The trailer captured all of these themes extremely well. The trailer also captured the main characters Craig and Raina (I think the trailer left out Phil and Craig’s relationship with him). It also captured their prevalent emotions of love, sadness, and happiness. The trailer was very well put together.
If I had to make a book trailer for Craig Thompson’s Blankets I would include many aspects of the book without giving any major parts and the ending away. I would include the themes, characters, and emotions like in the trailer that was on the blog hub. I would leave out the major points in the book and the ending. The trailer can’t give away too much. The audience I would be targeting is both teenagers and adults because I feel like the themes are relatable to both these age groups. When you are a teenager and an adult you have lived enough to know what the book is getting at. The book is really relatable and I feel like if I made a trailer I would want the audience to get an idea of these relatable themes and ideas.
